50th St. Gallen Symposium - Global Essay Competition

The St. Gallen Symposium is a two-day conference taking place at the University of St.Gallen (Switzerland) in May. Every year key decision-makers from the fields of economics, politics, science, and society take part in the symposium to meet and exchange with the next generation of leaders. The entire conference is organised by the International Students' Committee. It's a Team of 35 students from the University of St.Gallen who pause their studies for 10 months to engage in the realization of an intergenerational dialogue.

For 50 years, the symposium has been providing a platform for healthy debates across generations. 100 excellent young talents are granted the possibility to present and discuss their disruptive ideas with 600 of today’s leaders and decision makers. Among them are Christine Lagarde, president of the European Central Bank, Jack Ma, founder of Alibaba Group, and Dominic Barton, Managing Partner Emeritus McKinsey & Company and Ambassador of Canada to China.

Here some more highlights if you make it to St. Gallen:
